"I'll Make it to the moon if i have to crawl."
Greetings, humans!
My name is Bri Phipps and I am a junior in the glorious School of Nursing! I'm so excited to get to meet all of you and get you adjusted to UNCW so you can make the best of your 4 years here. This is my second-go-round at being a Seahawk Link, so I know the ropes! First off, I'll give you a little background about me. I am in a committed relationship/love triangle with Hulu and Netflix, we've been going on strong for a couple of years. My favorite hobby is going to concerts, and my favorite artist as of now is Hozier (I swear that man is a Irish God), but I am also a huge metal head *insert devil horns*. I love hearing new music, so if you have any suggestions, send them my way! I also am into mindfulness meditation, so if you'd like to join, or if you're interested, I'm your girl! I am a movie fanatic, and I speak in movie quotes 24/7. If you pick up on the quote I said and name the movie, we're gonna be buddies. :) I am also a huge fan of tattoos and piercings, and love getting them, seeing people get them, watch shows about them, or just be in the shop itself. Some of my favorite TV shows are Game of Thrones, Ink Master, Bates Motel, Grimm, The Following, Orange is the New Black, and Once Upon A Time. I am also a member of UNCWeekends, a CARE MyStand mentor, and the music chair for Schwoodstock. My favorite UNCW tradition is Oozeball, which is odd because I suck at volleyball. Oozeball is an annual event hosted by Student Ambassadors where students can make teams and play volleyball in the mud. This past year was the first time that I participated, and I had a blast! It really shows how you have to depend on your team and have good communication in order to succeed. I can't wait to play the next two years! A piece of advice to you guys is to always ask for help. There are always people (including me) that are more than willing to help if you ask for it. They will not seek you out thinking you need help. It never hurts to ask. Make friends and memories. I regretted not making more friends my freshman year, but now, I've opened myself up to plenty of people and made friends who I will keep for a lifetime. Most importantly, find your drive, and find what makes you happy. I have too many favorite quotes to name, but a favorite is, "All you have is your fire, and the place you need to reach." It means, no one can make you, help you enough, or push you to reach you dreams, unless you have the drive to want it for yourself. I can't wait to meet all of you! (P.S. If someone can name me who the man I am kissing on the cheek is first via email, I will bring your favorite candy to you during class sometime!) XO, Bri |
